Empire Roofing & More understands that ventilation is a critical part of your structure.
Ventilation is an important component of your home, business, or church. Ventilation affects the following aspects of your environment and your roofing system.
Improving ventilation to unconditioned spaces is always suggested. It is important to address ventilation issues when installing a new roof or replacing soffits.
Proper ventilation is a key factor to extending the life expectancy of your roof. An improperly ventilated roof will not reach its life expectancy. When installing a new roof, we follow the industry standard recommendation for ventilation rule of 1 to 300. This means 1 sq. ft. of Net Free Area (NFA) for every 300 sq. ft. of attic space. So, for each square foot or 144 square inches, of NFA we split between intake and exhaust. We then achieve the desired amount of intake and exhaust using different roofing system components. Since attics and other non-conditioned spaces differ in design and function from one another, each ventilation systems must be designed and installed to optimize performance for the specific application.
Empire Roofing & More knows how to identify the differences, and ventilation needs of individual structures. Our contractors will determine the needs of your home, and customize a system to more adequately equip your structures ventilation.
